2018 BMW M5 Colors, Release Date, Redesign, Price – The BMW M5 is one of the finest examples of German engineering on the road. The M5 has the power of a fighter jet and the classiness of a champagne dinner in a four-door package. The M5 is one of the greats of the world and holds true to the classic BMW philosophy of a big power rear wheel drive sedan. These street monsters are of a type that is instantly respected, the M5 was able to go from a standstill to sixty miles per hour in as little as 4.4 seconds. Recently, the 5 series which the M5 is based has been redesigned. The new 5 series takes every aspect of the old 5 series and makes it bigger and better. This sent BMW fans into a frenzy of excitement about what’s lingering behind the new 5 series. And that is the new 2018 BMW M5. Set to hit the market in early 2018, there is plenty of speculation and rumor around Bavaria’s next super sedan.
2018 BMW M5 Exterior
While the 2018 BMW M5 has not been released yet, the internet has had its way with trying to scope out what the beast will look like. We should expect BMW to use their trademark massive grilles and intakes like we see above. Also, you can see the black trimmed air outlet on the side of the vehicle just behind the front wheel arch that we’ve seen on the previous M5.
Popular BMW forum Bimmerpost.com created this rendering of the rear of the 2018 BMW M5. Again there are some trademark features we should see the real thing, like the quad exhaust tips, sizable diffusor, massive brake calipers and lip spoiler. BMW is notorious for not making the M5 look insane as it is, like the Cadillac CTS-V. This conservative approach to a super powerful sports sedan is common practice for the M5, and that is what the customers of the car love. It has the perfect balance of crazy fins and refined lines. I always appreciate an M5 when they drive by. I do love what they did with the new 5 series, so we can always expect great things from the new one.
2018 BMW M5 Interior
The new M5’s interior will be much like we saw in the previous generation M5. There aren’t any crazy differences in here versus the standard 5 series, which again is commonplace for BMW. You get a lovely redesigned M sports steering wheel with mounted paddles, as well as some M badges tagged around the cabin. There will be a huge host of technology inside here as well. iDrive has been updated for the new car, a new digital dashboard is in place, a whole new interior is brought to life and that’s just scratching the surface.
2018 BMW M5 Performance
The 2018 BMW M5 will be faster than you think. It will be faster than you can think. The 2016 M5 was incredibly fast, but let’s think about this: The 2018 M550i (not the M5) that is coming out, is faster than the 2016 M5. The non-M 5 series is faster than the previous M5. That is insanity. The current M5 can do a print from zero to sixty in 4.4 seconds as I said before, but the new M550i can do 0-60 in 4 seconds dead. Some sources even point to it being able to do the same sprint in 3.9 seconds, which is more of a game changer than it sounds. If that isn’t a proper level up I don’t know what is.
We’re looking for the new M5 to have around 600 horsepower from the 4.4 L twin-turbocharged V8 we saw in the previous M5. This should translate well to insane lap times and the Ultimate Driving Machine. On top of that, sources say that the 2018 BMW M5 will be able to switch from all wheel drive to rear wheel drive with the touch of a button (or flip a switch…not sure yet). This will mean that you can get the durability and grip of an all-wheel-drive heavy sedan, and the pure adrenaline of an overpowered rear wheel drive racer. I’ve personally been waiting for someone to do this, and I’m very happy the M5 will be one of the first with this insanely useful technology.
2018 BMW M5 Release Date and Price
Continue to hold out for recognized verification, but rumors place the release date as ‘sometime in 2017’. We anticipate seeing it to the end of 2017. As with the release date, practically nothing continues to be formally stated, but you would wager that the new M5 will think about in anywhere between $95,000 – $100,000.
